Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, using a web account. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are able to pick the most profitable game every time.
As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which case another hand is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
