How to Play Electronic Poker

[ English ]

Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your computer, through a net connection. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the best mixture of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards he or she would like to keep, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be given out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning players are able to choose the most profitable ones each and every instance.

After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, some versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their winnings, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
