The Proper Way to Play Electronic Poker

Video Poker is a popular game that can be played in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, using a net connection. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the best assemblage of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with competing players. The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "handed out" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has decided on which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are handed out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are able to select the most money-making machine each instance.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to double their wins, in which situation a further game is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
